Meet Mrs. Hamm, a Second Grade Teacher at TPA.
1 – Does your family have any special holiday traditions, and what are some of your favorites?
Yes! Every year I wake my husband and daughter up at 5 am on Black Friday to go shopping. Neither one of them likes to shop and it is always a battle to get them moving, but once they're up it becomes a wonderful fun-filled day. We laugh, sing Christmas carols and make our shopping adventure almost like a scavenger hunt - searching for the perfect present and best sale. It is an awesome day. Another very special tradition in our family is baking cookies. Every year my mom, sister, daughter and niece all bake cookies. We make about 13 different kinds to share with others. It is a wonderful tradition that my mom did with me as a little girl and I love that we still carry it on every year!
2 – What activities are you looking forward to doing in 2016?
Spending time with my family, watching the kiddos in my class grow and gain their independence and visiting with my closest friend from California.
3 – Please let us know your favorite holiday books and movies.
My favorite holiday book is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" because it reminds us all how much kindness matters. My favorite movie is Miracle on 34th Street. 4 – What are some of the New Year’s Resolutions that your 2nd graders have for the upcoming year?
As a class we are working on patience and kindness. Two life skills that make all the difference!
Meet the Spirit Wear Committee!
(Eryn Crytzer and Jennifer Aldrich)
1 – What types of events will we have the opportunity to wear our Spirit Wear in the upcoming months?
*We are planning "spirit wear days" periodically throughout the year (dates TBD)!
2 – What is your favorite fall fashion trend this year?
*There are too many to pick just one! I love the oversized cozy sweaters, ankle booties, flannel, military style vests, and top knot/bun hair styles!
3 – What was the most popular spirit wear item that was sold this fall season?
The navy blue t shirt seemed to be the favorite! The tie dyed was a close second though.
4 – With your committee, how easy was it to decide on colors and styles for spirit wear?
Pretty easy! We knew we wanted something that could easily be identified as TPA, but we wanted to have something that looked different than the uniforms the kids wear everyday.
5 – Do you plan on selling other items, in addition to the car magnets?
Yes! Be on the lookout for other items to purchase by the end of the year!
